Sheriff's Office announces firearm training

The Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) has announced that it will hold a classroom firearm training class at the Goldendale KPUD Building on July 22, at 9 a.m. The class will be four hours.

Subsequent training at a range will be announced when a range location is determined.

Anyone applying for this course must complete an application for a criminal history background check to insure that they can legally be in possession of a firearm.

The KCSO is limiting the firearms course to the first 25 persons who apply and pass the background check. The office will maintain a pending file for other applicants for a future firearms training class.

Citizens who successfully complete the Basic Firearm Course will receive a Certificate from the KCSO.

All citizens who are interested in applying for this firearm course can contact the KCSO at the Court House located at 205 South Columbus Ave. in Goldendale Monday-Friday 8 a.m to 5 p.m, or at the West End Sheriff’s Office in the Pioneer Building in White Salmon on Wednesday or Thursday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Apply by July 17, 2017.

The class is free.
