Wall still needs volunteers

Preparations are coming together in advance of The Wall That Heals, scheduled to arrive in Goldendale Aug. 30, as local organizations and law enforcement are working together to ensure a grand entrance and a safe and honorable weekend.

Opening ceremonies will start at 2 p.m. on Aug. 31 with the Washington State Army Reserves Honor Guard, Taps by George Minor, and a keynote speaker from the Washington State Grand Masonic Lodge will be part of the opening ceremonies.

People are encouraged to welcome the arrival of the Wall by coming out to Broadway Street around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 30 to cheer and wave flags as a pack of bikers and local police will escort it through town.
