Evelyn Harsch passed away on Aug. 6, 2017 in Medford, Oregon.

Evelyn was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on Dec. 9, 1930 to Frank and Lydia Harting. Evelyn grew up in Tacoma, Washington. She attended Stadium High School where she was very active in sports, school groups and school activities. After graduating from Stadium High School, Evelyn enrolled at Washington State University. She joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority where she met many lifelong friends. Evelyn earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Education while at Washington State University. Evelyn also met and married Jerry Harsch, who was a student in the Veterinary School at WSU.

Evelyn and Jerry purchased Mid Columbia Veterinary Clinic and moved to Goldendale in 1964. During the first few years, Evelyn was very busy serving as the clinic’s receptionist, office manager, bookkeeper, and veterinary technician as well as being a housekeeper and mother. Jerry often credited all the roles Evelyn played with the veterinary clinic becoming successful. In 2003 Evelyn and Jerry retired to Medford, Oregon.

Evelyn was very active in her church, her PEO Group, working on community activities and family activities. She cherished all of the friends she made in Goldendale. Evelyn and Jerry enjoyed their annual vacations to Hawaii and Arizona. Evelyn also enjoyed painting and arts and crafts projects. She loved animals, especially the many cats and dogs which were her pets.

Evelyn is survived by two children, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held in Medford, Oregon on Sept. 5, 2017.
