Another strong season expected for Goldendale runners

Last November, the Goldendale boys cross country team made Goldendale High School history with its 10th place finish at the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet in Pasco. The Timberwolves also had two girls who ran impressive races at state, and this year, second year head coach Juli Rising is setting the bar high.

"It would be fun to take all 14 kids on the bus (to state)," last year's South Central Athletic Conference boys coach of the year said. "We like to set our goals high."

Those goals may be high, but they're certainly in reach for both the Timberwolf boys and girls, with six runners returning who competed in the state meet last year, led by senior Dillon Rising.
