Goldendale spikers start 2-0 in SCAC after wins over Zillah and Naches; Plum sets school assist record

Senior setter Sierra Plum sets a Goldendale hitter up for a spike during Tuesday's home opener against Naches. Plum passed 2009 Goldendale graduate Kylee Barnes for the school's all-time assist record.

The South Central Athletic Conference West is going to be a tough league to play in this volleyball season.

"There's five teams vying for four spots (in districts)," Goldendale head coach Jodi Bellamy said. "It's going to be a dogfight."

With Goldendale, Granger, La Salle, Naches, and Zillah all battling for the four SCAC West spots at districts, it's going to be a bumpy ride all volleyball season.

The Timberwolves, however, started on a strong note after Tuesday's thrilling five-set win over reigning league champ Naches.
