Wolves show grit, determination in Friday's loss at Zillah

Going into last Friday's South Central Athletic Conference West opener against the Zillah Leopards, Goldendale head coach Alan Hale and the rest of the Timberwolves knew it was going to be a battle.

"Zillah came out to win and get after it," Hale said. "We knew it was going to be a long, hard night

It sure was a battle, and despite the 46-6 final, Hale and the rest of the staff was excited that the team continued to play hard for 48 minutes from snap to whistle regardless of the deficit.

"Defensively, we were very proud," Hale said. "Every kid we put out there, it seems like they finally bought into that it doesn't matter what the scoreboard said."

The Leopards are perennial contenders...
