Carl Carpenter

Carl Edward Carpenter was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on Nov. 11, 1939 to Elizabeth (Sturgis) and Clifford Carpenter. He served in the Army National Guard and married Wanda Imogene Stewart on Sept. 22, 1967. Mr. Carpenter worked at the Goldendale Aluminum Plant as a steelworker and was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church and a volunteer for Rural 7 Fire Department.

Carl loved reading the Bible and spending time in prayer. He also enjoyed tinkering around his home, gardening and watching professional wrestling. Mr. Carpenter passed away in Goldendale on September 9, 2017 at the age of 77. He will be missed by his wife, Wanda Carpenter; sons Tim and David Carpenter of Goldendale; brothers John, Steve and Bobby Sturgis; stepchildren Terry Shirley and Linda Weaver of Michigan; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Elizabeth Sturgis; brothers Phil Carpenter and Jerry Carpenter; sister Joy Sturgis; stepchildren Danny Shirley and Allyn Shirley.
