Cleveland reliever with Goldendale ties makes postseason debut against Yankees

Former Seattle Mariners draft pick Tyler Olson, the son of former Goldendale residents Jeff and Kathie Olson and grandson of residents Daryel and Mary Jo Olson, made his postseason debut for the Cleveland Indians during Game 2 against the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series.

Olson was drafted by the Mariners in the seventh round of the 2013 draft was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in December 2015, traded to the Yankees in January 2016, and claimed off waivers by the Indians in July 2016. He was a stalwart in the Indians’ bullpen throughout the regular season, going 1-0 in 30 appearances while striking out 18 and allowing zero earned runs.
