Help send church group to camp

November 1, 2017

Gavin Bensel and Anthony Avila competed in the Youth Football League tournament last weekend in Goldendale. Both boys’ teams finished in first place in regular season play. They played well in the tournament and both finished in second place. Way to go, Gavin and Anthony. Congratulations on such a successful season. Frank Lorton also played on a Youth Football team and finished his season with a solid win on Saturday. Good job, Frank.

Our community lost another long-time resident recently. Bob Beveridge was laid to rest in a graveside service at Mt. Adams Cemetery last Saturday. Bob had a distinguished career in the Navy and was honored with a Navy honor guard at this service as friends and family gathered to pay their respects. Bob will be remembered here in Glenwood as a kind and gentle man. Our condolences go to Ann and all their children.

Klickwood participated in the first round of District tournament at Goldendale on Wednesday night. Results came in too late for this news. For information on continued District play at Goldendale on Nov. 4 and a possible State tournament berth, contact Klickwood coach Jaecee Hoctor at the school. The girls finished their regular season solidly in second place. They’ve had a great season and we wish them all the best of luck in post-season play.

Congratulations to Tye and Melissa Eldred on the birth of their new son, Thomas Patrick Eldred. Baby Thomas joins big sisters Isabel and Sophia. Grandparents are Tom and Laurene Eldred, Pat Meyer, and Judy and Henry Jensen. Great grandparents are Mary Jean Malfait, Carl and Terry Larson, and Jeanette Meyer.

Please help send the Pioneer Memorial Community Church youth group to Winter Camp. The youth group is hosting a Baked Potato Bar on Nov. 4 at the Glenwood School and will be accepting donations to help defray the camp costs. Dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m. Contact Jennifer Hallenbeck for more information.
