Maria Timmer Memorial Garden gets some love

IN LOVING MEMORY: Goldendale Librarian Erin Krake plants bulbs in the Maria Timmer Memorial Garden at the Library.

The sunny weather at the end of October provided the perfect time to plant some new bulbs in the Goldendale Community Library's garden area. The narrow garden spreads against a brick wall along the eastern boundary of the library's front lawn.

The garden was dedicated in 1993 to library supporter Maria Timmer, who had died earlier that year. She was a library board trustee and supporter over many years. She was also an artist, a singer and an accomplished weaver, "noted for her unusual color and intriguing textures."
