Rising imposed costs force increase

A special message from the Goldendale Sentinel

December 6, 2017

For years The Sentinel has been among the cheapest newspapers you could buy anywhere, certainly the cheapest of any around the Columbia River Gorge. Had the choice been ours, we would have remained the cheapest. But recent changes in Washington State law have made it impossible for us to retain prices where they have been for the last decade—it’s almost 10 years since The Sentinel had any price increase. Starting with our issue of Jan. 3, 2018, our newsstand price will be $1. Annual subscription prices for one and two years will also see a slight increase but with the same percentage of savings off our newsstand price we offer now.

We are blessed to be able to report steady increases...
