DEATH BY GOLDENDALE DRIVER?: Oregon authorities want information about a driver from Goldendale who they say caused a fatal accident.

Oregon State Police are asking for the public's assistance with the investigation that killed a Bend man Dec. 6, according to a news release. Shannon Rogers, 55, of Goldendale is believed to have been driving in a reckless manner prior to the crash that took the life of Brian Harris, 56. Investigators believe Rogers was traveling from Fresno, California, to Goldendale when the crash occurred. Preceding the crash, Rogers' vehicle began weaving erratically before it hit the rear of Harris' pickup. Harris was forced off the road and struck a tree. Rogers was injured in the crash as well when his Nissan also hit a tree shortly after hitting Harris' pickup. Alcohol and speed are being investigated as possible crash causes. Anyone who may have witnessed a silver 2006 Nissan Quest driven by Rogers traveling in an unsafe manner is urged to contact Senior Trooper Toni Raugust at (503) 375-3555. As of Monday, Rogers was still at Saint Charles Bend receiving medical care.
