City swears in new council members

The Goldendale City Council held its first meeting of the New Year on Tuesday, Jan. 2, pushed from its normal Monday meeting schedule by the New Year’s Day holiday. And the meeting held an unusual twist—an evening field trip to some vacant buildings owned by the city that are the subject of negotiations with a potential buyer. City Administrator Larry Bellamy explained that a recent court case allowed council members to discuss a minimal acceptable price in executive session but factors that might affect the decision on price now have to be part of an open session.
