Klickitat Valley Health opens new Wellness Center

January 10, 2018

HELPING THE CAUSE: The KVH Memorial Foundation presents a check for $60,000 to Klickitat Valley Health. The funds helped pay for equipment in the hospital's new physical therapy unit.

Klickitat Valley Health is hosting a grand opening and open house for its new Wellness and Therapy Center on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. The ribbon cutting with the Goldendale Chamber of Commerce will be at 5 p.m., with open house to follow. The new center was made possible through funding from the USDA and $60,000 raised by the KVH Memorial Foundation that was used towards equipment purchases.

The hospital-based center is uniquely designed to meet the needs of the whole community with facilities and programs for patients working their way back from an injury or illness, as well as anyone looking to improve or maintain their health through Wellness education. Designed with Physical Therapy Rehabilitation in mind, the new center includes a state-of-the-art therapy gym, a wellness classroom, occupational therapy suite, massage suite, patient and exam rooms along with offices for staff. With a new approach to community health, the center will be adding community wellness classes under a program designed by center director Ann Stanley.

"At Klickitat Valley Health, the health and wellness of our entire community is our top priority," said Leslie Hiebert, CEO of Klickitat Valley Health. "The new Wellness and Therapy Center enhances our ability to provide state-of-the-art physical therapy and occupational therapy which gets patients back to their everyday lives. We've also invested in this Center because we believe me must play an active role and provide the resources needed to help everyone in our community achieve new levels of well-being. Our ultimate goal is keeping people out of the hospital."

For the community, the Center will bridge the gap between therapy and wellness - taking patients through their course of rehabilitation with the goal of transitioning them into a general maintenance health and wellness routine - all under the same roof. The Center will offer a focused selection of services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietitian services with the goal of adding massage, and further therapy services.

"The Center offers our patients a variety of individualized physical rehabilitation and therapy services - allowing us to do more than ever before - with the goal of helping each of them reach their maximum functional potential," said Ann Stanley, Director of KVH Wellness and Therapy. "This center is the first piece in our two-year campaign of leading healthy changes in our community."

The Klickitat Valley Health Wellness and Therapy Center is located at 715 East Collins in Goldendale, Washington on the KVH campus. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Therapy patients can register at the Center. For more information, call (509) 773-1025.
