GHS honors cheer and band seniors during last basketball home game

February 7, 2018

It wasn’t just the Goldendale hoopsters who were honored before hitting the hardwood for the last time in high school.

Senior members of the pep band and cheerleading squads also were recognized during senior night festivities on Saturday as the Wolves took on the Cle Elum Warriors.

Prior to tipoff of the girls game, four senior cheerleaders took center stage in front of the fans they have helped fire up many times throughout the years.

Sierra Clear and Reanna Holycross cheered at their last game after three years each in the cheer program, while Briana Cuevas (two-year letter winner) and Arin Ontiveros (first varsity cheer letter winner) also took the sidelines in front of the GHS pep band for the last time.

The senior cheerleaders also were joined by six senior band members who rocked out for the last time.

Fourth year band seniors included John DeMott on drums, Mikayla Hagedorn on baritone sax, Johnathen Hanna on percussion, Dillon Rising on trombone, and Alex Mains on trumpet, although he was honored just after with the rest of the hoops team.

Alto sax player Kris Stover and percussionist Trevor Larson also were honored after three years with the GHS band program.
