Police nab Glenwood burglar, car thief

On Sunday someone saw a man burglarizing a shop just south of Glenwood. The suspect, later identified as David Chapelle, 33, of Portland, soon realized he had been discovered. He bolted from the scene in a truck.

The citizen who discovered the burglary followed Chapelle until the two were involved in a collision. Chapelle then took off running in the woods.

Sergeant Fred Kilian, Deputy Ben Corning, Deputy Erik Beasley, Deputy Jim Leininger, Range Deputy Harold Cole, and Bingen-White Salmon Officer Frank Randall all responded to the area to start a search for Chapelle.
