New spring soccer league accepting sign-ups

There hasn’t been a boys high school soccer team in Goldendale for close to a decade, but the Central Klickitat County Parks and Recreation District (CKCPRD) has an alternative for those avid soccer fans who have been missing the game.

New this year, the CKCPRD is taking registration for a co-ed soccer program for all kids high school aged. The spring program is open to both boys and girls, and registration is open until March 15.

Players can register online by visiting http://www.signmeup.com/CentralKCTeenSoccer. Teams of 9-10 players will be created immediately after the sign up period ends on March 15, and there will be no guarantees that players late to sign up will be added to a team. Registration is $50 per player which includes a uniform and participation in the weekend games.

Shortly after registration ends, the first practices will begin at the Goldendale High School soccer field. Practices will start on March 19, and will be held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:15 p.m.

Games will be every Sunday starting the first weekend in April and will be played in The Dalles. The season ends in mid-May and will conclude with a tourney among the Goldendale teams.
