Burial disturbs family

PAINFUL BURIAL: The family of Adeline Swan struggles to place her casket in a grave (above) at Mountain View Cemetery. Right, they were surprised to find another coffin exposed. The cemetery says the family was notified of some procedures; they say they were not.

A family's grief was compounded last Wednesday during a burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Goldendale when they discovered someone else's coffin in the plot designated for the family's loved one. They say that the cemetery work crew cracked jokes during the burial and damaged the family member's casket.

Mountain View sextons say they regret the family's added pain and that some of the issues were apparent misunderstandings in communication. But a family member says those communications from the cemetery did not happen.

"Mom was buried in the most disrespectful way I can imagine," says Cookie Ringe of the burial of Adeline Swan. "I am still having trouble sleeping-grieving is hard enough...
