Goldendale students win at TSA

WELL DONE: Last month's TSA conference saw Goldendale students winning numerous places. The Washington Technology Student Association (TSA) State Conference was held in Seattle at the end of March, with 1,206 participants. Goldendale took students from the middle and high school.

At the middle school level, the team of Thea Smith and Ruby Jones took first place in the Off the Grid event. Off the Grid is an event where students have to research a problem and then design a sustainable house in another country with features that solve the problems they found in their research. The girls chose Mexico City, which has severe water shortages and is home to the largest slum in the world.

The girls will travel to Atlanta in June to compete at the TSA National Conference.
