April 18, 1889

County Surveyor, Jake Richardson, was employed several days last week laying off a number of additional blocks to the town of Goldendale. The addition embraces that portion of Golden’s field lying south of town and from Columbus Avenue on the west to Academy on the east.

April 16, 1891

A phonograph, the greatest invention of the wonder maker Edison, is on exhibition at present in our town. It is something strange to hear a voice repeating sounds that have been spoken years ago, listen to tunes that have been played by hands and orchestras many months before, to hear songs of long ago repeated in the manner originally sung and to know that it is all recorded on a cylinde...
