Schuster heads to OSU

 


Congratulations to former Glenwood student Corbin (CJ) Schuster on his graduation with a B.S. in Microbiology from Heritage University in Yakima on May 5th. CJ will soon be off to Oregon State University to begin a doctoral program. Congratulations, CJ.

The Glenwood High School A.S.B. is hosting a Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, May 17. If you have not yet been contacted and would like to donate, please contact the school office at 364-3438 to schedule a donation time. Senior Madi Couch is organizing the drive and will receive a scholarship from the Red Cross for her efforts.

The freshman class will be hosting a woodcutting opportunity on Saturday May 19, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fisher Hill Road. The class will be accepting donations at the gate. For more information on the woodcutting site, contact the school at (509) 364-3438.


The Glenwood School spring concert will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Students from kindergarten through 10th grade will be singing and playing instruments under the direction of music teacher Jennifer Hallenbeck.

The Glenwood Ketchum Kalf Rodeo is seeking candidates for the 2019 rodeo queen. Columbia Gorge area girls ages 14 – 19 years of age as of Jan. 1, 2018 are invited to try out. The Glenwood rainfall was just a bit below average for the month of April, with a total of 2.94 inches. The high for April was 3.32 in 2017 and the low was 0.14 in 2015. The 23-year average for April was 1.38. Thanks, Doug Daniels, for providing these statistics.
