Ronald James Larsen


Ronald James Larsen, born Dec. 30, 1942 in Pasco, Washington, to Helen (Blondo) and Robert J Larsen, passed away in his home May 6, 2018, following a brief battle with lung cancer.

Ron, better known to many as "Beef," moved throughout the Pacific Northwest as a child. His family moved from Pendleton, OR to Goldendale his sophomore year in high school. He graduated from Goldendale High School in 1961, began a construction career as an iron worker and then a heavy machine operator. In 1971 he married Barbara June Van de Vanter-Greenfield. They had one daughter together, Rhonda. Ron retired from the Operating Engineers Local 701 after a 30-year career in construction. Ron spent many hours on the golf course when not working.

Surviving Ron in death are Rhonda and Donn Bash and their two daughters, Madison and Lilly; stepchildren Van (Carol) Greenfield, Dara (Danny) Eastham, Jodi (Larry) Bellamy and Jana (Denise) Greenfield; seven step-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, and brother, Robert J. Larsen.
