Old food has new meanings

Some people were born for public speaking. On Thursday May 10, 2018, Harriet Baskas came to Goldendale to talk at the Father’s House of Fellowship. The topic she came here to talk about though was quite unusual. Her talk being called “The Ancient Fruitcake,” she came here to talk about what really, really old food tells us about history, culture, love and memory. But why?
In her research of the topic she has become obsessed with what she has discovered. Baskas says, “So many of the old food items I've found and learned about hold memories, tell stories, and connect us with family, culture, and history.”
