James William Lear

James William Lear passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018, after an eight month-long battle with cancer, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.
Jim was born November 7, 1944 in Goldendale, where he spent his formative years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charl Ann; parents Fred and Janet Lear; his beloved wife of 36 years, Linda Lear; and his two sons, Scott and Travis Lear. Jim is survived by his daughter Shannon Macklem (Jason and his two sons); son Brandon Lear; and by his three grandchildren Mikayla, Conner and Madison Lear. Jim is also survived by his dear love of the last six years, Judy Fredrickson, along with her five children, their spouses and her grandchildren.
Jim graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s degree in business. He spent many years as a commercial general contractor and owner of Lear Construction, Inc. He started his business in Spokane, later moving to Apple Valley, California, and finishing his career in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many years were spent working together as a family creating a highly successful business. In his younger years, Jim loved to golf, where some said that he should have become a pro golfer. He was a strong, healthy, hard-working and loving family man who will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
A celebration of life with some family and friends was held on May 21, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
