Welcome to the world

Congratulations to Victoria Valdez and Starsun Billy on the birth of their sweet little daughter Hayden Stormy Emmelene Valdez. Hayden was born June 3 and is the granddaughter of Kate Valdez and great-granddaughter of Alta and Billy Valdez. How many grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids do Alta and Billy have now? A lot! Mother and baby girl are doing great.

Another exciting Ketchum Kalf Rodeo is in the books and two local residents are sporting beautiful new belt buckles. Congratulations to Joslyn Arnold for her fastest time in the Junior Barrels. Joslyn was awarded the Shawna Roberson Memorial Buckle for her win. Way to go, Joslyn. Members of the Glenwood Rodeo Association selected Rich Wheelhouse to receive this year’s Hank Ladiges Memorial Buckle. This buckle is awarded to a member of the association whose contribution to the success of the rodeo exemplifies Hank’s dedication to the rodeo for many years prior to his passing. Hank set the bar high and receiving the award named for him is a great honor indeed. Congratulations, Rich.

Mt. Adams Community 4-H would like to thank everyone for supporting their Pop Stand at the Glenwood Rodeo. Proceeds will go toward 4-H enrollment fees and other 4-H expenses. Those kids work hard all year to prepare for the county fair and community support is greatly needed and appreciated. Chris Kuhnhausen would also like to thank everyone who participated in the rodeo parade. Once again, the parade was a great success.

Don’t forget to come out to enjoy hearing Dr. James Ogden and his bass-playing friend Jimmy providing great music and fun entertainment at Hoodenpyl Park on Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and celebrate the longest day of the year while enjoying this fun evening.

Shipwrecked is the theme of this year’s Vacation Bible School at Glenwood Community Church. The exciting adventures will be held the week of June 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Lunch will be served each day. Ages 4 years through eighth grade are invited to come enjoy surprising adventures, creative games, amazing experiments, and incredible music. The Friday evening finale will be held June 29 at 6:30 p.m. Contact Pastor Butch and Jennifer at (509) 364-3517 for more information.
