While some of her teammates were at the National Junior and High School Finals Rodeos, middle schooler Jorgia Bean was braving the warm weather in Nevada at the Silver State International Rodeo.

Bean, after finishing the rodeo season sixth among Washington state junior cowgirls in the pole bending and 11th in the all-around standings, qualified in the poles, goat tying, and breakaway at the 33rd running of the rodeo in Winnemucca, Nevada.

She had a good showing all season in the breakaway (finishing ninth) and goat tying (11th), although things didn't go as planned in Nevada. Nonetheless, just the experience of attending the rodeo and competing against some of the top participants from the west coast (Canada, Montana, California, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, and Washington all were represented) should only help her grow as her rodeo career continues.

In Nevada she also represented Washington state at the rodeo's grand entry and carried the state flag into the arena while riding her horse Matty.
