The remodel of the Goldendale Library is progressing rapidly toward its completion date target of Sept. 15, when the library is scheduled to reopen.
The 15,560-square foot building will look very different on the inside. The front doors (top left) were removed and refinished to correct warping. Most windows in the building
have been replaced with more heat- and cold-repelling glass. The former check-out space near the top of the front stairs (top right) will now be open, with check-out facilities
moved out of traffic. Space for kids' books and activities is expanded and allows for better monitoring and access. Bottom right: Librarian Erin Krake (left) and Fort Vancouver
