When Laura Rooke’s husband of 40 years died in 2016, she experienced grief like never before. Uncertain how to move forward with her new way of life, she began to search for support groups that could aid in the transition.
An internet ad led Rooke to the website of an international organization called Grief Share, a faith-based, non-denominational group offering grief support services. Using the website, she was able to locate a group in Yakima based on her zip code. That’s when she began making the weekly commute to attend meetings.
