Democratic women to form group

A chapter of the Washington State Federation of Democratic Women is forming in South Central Washington. The first meeting of the South Central Federation of Democratic Women will be on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at Northtown Coffeehouse in Yakima.

The National Federation of Democratic Women was established in 1971 as a means of supporting women's voices within the Democratic Party of the United States. The NFDW has 37 chapters around the country. The Washington State Federation of Democratic Women encourages growth of a conscientious democratic electorate focusing on issues of importance to women.
