Debate season began on Aug. 8 when Herrera Beutler joined her general election opponent, Democrat Carolyn Long, for a debate hosted by the Columbian Newspaper editorial board, available online at http://www.columbian.com/news/2018/aug/08/herrera-beutler-long-have-their-first-debate.

“I look forward to sharing my perspective at these events as a longtime Southwest Washington resident who will cut taxes, oppose unfair tolling and for fight for higher paychecks,” said Herrera Beutler. “Voters throughout the district will have the chance to learn about the contrast between the two candidates in the race.”
