Sign up for Reverse 911

September 12, 2018

It may be time to remind everyone, especially new people to the area, about signing up for the Reverse 911. You must have gotten a notification alert last week when the phone line fiber was cut in the Gorge, knocking out many landlines. If you didn’t get notified, then you may not have signed up yet. Go to this website: http://klickitatcounty.org/249/Emergency-Management. There you can get signed up for emergency notifications, which will only affect you if the emergency is for your area.

Heads up for the next veterans dinner, put on by Christ the King Lutheran Church on the corner of Simcoe and Columbus. The date is Thursday, Sept. 20, and dinner will be served from 6 to 7 p.m. at no cost. Veterans can also bring their spouse or caretaker , and widows of veterans are welcomed as well.

Notice from the Primary School: “Parents of Primary school children, if you choose to attend the High School football games, be aware that it is your responsibility to supervise your children. They should be sitting with you. We love our fans and want to ensure their safety at all times.”

See you at the Goldendale Night Out tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ekone Park off East Broadway. Bring the kids and grandkids to meet their local police officers, firefighters, and emergency services employees and volunteers.

Don’t forget the Library Open House on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when you can see the renewed library with tours, music, special guests, and refreshments.

Here’s my email address in case you might want to send me something for this column: heresgoldendale@gmail.com.
