DEVELOPMENTS DEVELOPING: The U.S. Forest Service posted this sign over the weekend near the Klickitat River in Lyle.

The U.S. Forest Service wants public comment on potential development of land near the Klickitat Trail adjacent to the Klickitat River in Lyle.

A sign was posted on a tree near the trail over the weekend, indicating the Forest Service was proposing to manage the area for use only (no overnight camping), development of a designated parking area for up to 15 cars, installing a waterless restroom and picnic tables, provide trash service, and construct a river access trail.

The proposals concern many users of the area who prefer its current pristine wilderness state.

Comment may be emailing to comments-pacificnorthwest-columbia-river-gorge-nsa@fs.fed.us or by calling (541) 308-1700.
