Kids learn outdoor skills

September was full of environmental students at Pathfinder Adventures Outdoor School last month. Students were on the trail looking for wildlife, casting fly rods, pounding artistic impressions on leather keychains, making scientific observations, eating healthy camp food, and learning strategies to live safe and active lives.

"It was cool how we got to stay in cabins with our friends. I liked the leather making. We learned new things with our outdoor cooking experience at Maryhill State Park. When I went there I didn't know things and now I do. I liked the stargazing. I also liked the leather crafting." These were comments made by several seventh-grade Centerville School students.
