Kids can come as favorite character

Women Supporting the Badge invites all women connected to law enforcement to their Fall Rally on Saturday, Oct. 13, from noon to 2 p.m., at the KPUD building on Columbus Ave. in Goldendale, Lunch will be provided, and there will be door prizes; also our inspirational speaker will inspire and motivate you. With the Halloween Holiday coming, the Goldendale Primary School will allow your student to come as a favorite book character or wear another appropriate costume on Wednesday, Oct. 31. By appropriate costumes, they mean no masks, blood, false teeth, or props (like swords, scepters, fake animals, and the like). Costumes can also be very simple like a wig, scarf, or a funny shirt. If you have any questions about what is appropriate, call the Primary School office at 773-4665.

A Situational Awareness Class called “Be Prepared Not Paranoid” will be held at the Goldendale Senior Center, 115 E. Main Street Saturday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. There is no cost for the class, and it is sponsored by community volunteers. The instructor will be Les Belford, who is a retired police officer. The Goldendale Grange is holding a Candidates Night on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. All are invited to come and listen to most of the candidates who will be on your ballot. There will also be a question and answer period. The November 2018 General Election 18-day voting period begins on Oct. 19.
