October 5, 1898 – 120 years ago

Reports received from the three threshing machines of Eli Miller, James Vanhoy and Con Yeackel: we find that these machines have threshed about 250,000 bushels of wheat. This is a fair indication of the immense crop which was raised in Klickitat this year. These machines are all located between Alder Creek and the Klickitat River, and are only three out of about fourteen. The rest averaging along with these, the results would be in the whole county a crop of about 1,500,000 bushels of wheat this year, with over 1,000,000 tributary to Goldendale
