Troh sings national anthem

October 10, 2018

The Klickwood girls will go up against Lyle-Wishram in the Glenwood gym on Thursday, Oct. 11. Game time is 6 p.m., and the girls would really like a large crowd to show support. Good luck, Klickwood.

Glenwood High School senior Kinley Troh attended the Klickitat County Republicans Second Amendment Rally in Centerville last Saturday. She sang the national anthem to open the rally and, as a young woman who enjoys hunting, was interviewed regarding her views on owning and using guns in America.

Don’t forget the Alumni Volleyball Game Saturday, Oct. 13. Glenwood Alumni will play the Klickwood volleyball team. If you’re a Glenwood alumnus and would like to play on the alumni team, please contact Jaecee or Toni at the school. It’s going to be a really fun night so come on out to cheer for the alumni, the Klickwood girls, or both.

School will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 17. The annual prime rib dinner will be held that evening, beginning at 5 p.m. That’s an event we all look forward to each year.

Buck Smith, who grew up in Glenwood and is well known and loved here, will be celebrating his 90th birthday on Saturday, Oct. 20. The party, hosted by Buck’s daughters, will be held at the Grace Baptist Church in White Salmon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Buck has entertained generations of us with his amazing guitar playing and singing and still plays from time to time at the senior center in White Salmon. We wish Buck a very happy 90th birthday.

Doug Daniels reports that we received 0.14 inches of rain in September. It’s not much, but we were glad to get it. The low for September over the last 23 years of record keeping was 0.0 in the years 1999, 2002, and 2006. The 23-year average for September is 0.77, so we’re definitely still below average. Thanks, Doug, for keeping and sharing this information.
