City cuts its PUD electric bill

READY FOR FIRE: The City of Goldendale's new fire vehicle was available for close looks at Monday's city council meeting.

The Goldendale City Council had an unusual double session Monday night. The regular meeting started at 7 p.m., and the main item on the agenda was the council's vote to accept a $4,500 grant from the state's Department of Commerce. Councilors used the grant funds to approve a contract with BergerABAM of Vancouver to complete an audit of the city's critical areas ordinance and draft any changes necessary to bring the ordinance in compliance with Washington State's Growth Management Act.

That meeting was preceded at 6 p.m. by what was originally going to be a public works committee meeting. But when this was announced at the last City Council meeting Oct. 1, Councilor Justin Leigh indicate...
