October is Domestic Violence Action Month

Domestic Violence (DV) statistics are kept nationally, statewide and locally. One clear picture is given by the One Day Count, where data is collected by various Domestic Violence agencies every year. In September of 2017, 90 percent of identified domestic violence programs in the United States participated in the annual One Day National Census of Domestic Violence Services. This means that across the nation 72,245 victims were served in a single 24 hour period. In the state of Washington, 59 percent of DV programs reported that 1,808 victims received services in their agencies.
