Charles was born to Iris and Jim Hore on June 4, 1939. He was raised at Broughton Lumber Company at Hood, Washington and attended White Salmon schools. He was drafted into the Army in 1961 and spent time in Germany as an Army truck driver. He was a resident of Maupin, Oregon, working over 30 years for Mountain Fir Lumber Company until they closed. He married his first wife, Barbara Riley, and raised his family in Maupin. After the mill closed, Charlie went to truck driving school and attempted long haul driving for a short time. He moved to Wishram with his second wife, Holly Barber, and spent more than 10 years working for Allied Waste as a truck driver at their Roosevelt Land Fill. His...
