Senior Torrie Speikerman makes a pass during the Oct. 8 game against Granger. Speikerman and fellow senior Lene Riggers finish their high school soccer careers on Thursday in a nonleague game at Wahluke.

The Timberwolves jumped out to a quick lead in last Thursday's senior day game against visiting Highland and remained out in front of the Scotties for much of the first half, but four Scottie goals over the final 40 minutes gave them a 5-1 win over the Wolves.

Playing in her last home game, senior Lene Riggers scored the game's first goal in the first five minutes, but that was the Wolves' lone goal of the afternoon.

The Wolves gave the 8-4 in league play Scotties all they could handle, but the Scotties were too deep. Tied at one at the half, the Scotties scored four straight over the final 40 minutes to hold off Goldendale.

Junior Jeeneeva Lawrence had a busy night in the goal, stopping 15 Scottie shots.

Riggers, along with senior Torrie Speikerman, were playing in their last game in front of the hometown fans last Thursday, but they and the rest of the Wolves have one more game left this season.

Goldendale heads to Mattawa on Thursday for its final game of the season in a nonleague matchup with the Wahluke Warriors, a game that originally was scheduled for Sept. 22. That game was postponed and rescheduled three times but is set for 4 p.m .on Thursday.
