October 9, 1913 – The Goldendale Independent – 105 years ago

Excavation for the basement of the $15,000 brick bank at the corner of Main and Grant streets was stared this week. Plans provided for the construction of the building this Fall, and it will likely be ready for occupancy by the first of the year. The Brooks and Company Bank will occupy a space 37 x 50 feet on the corner. Oregon-Washington Telephone Company’s office, 16 x 50 feet, will adjoin the bank on the north, facing Grant street.
