Early election results favoring Republicans

Election results as of last night show easy victories for most Republican candidates in the county and legislative district. On the national level, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler was clinging to a narrow lead over challenger Carolyn Long.

As of 8:45 last night, results on the highly controversial state initiative measures were posted only for Initiative 1634. Statewide that initiative was showing 79.32 percent for yes, 20.68 percent against.

Here are the early results for two-candidate races:

U.S. Senate:

Results in Klickitat County:

Maria Cantwell: 1,465 votes, 42.06 percent

Susan Hutchison: 2,018 votes, 57.94 percent

Results statewide:

Cantwell: 1,062,171, 59.42 percent
