New eatery wants you to feel at home

EAT HEARTY: The Blue Sage Restaurant will open Nov. 11. It was serving free chili, cornbread, and hot apple cider on Halloween as a sneak preview for Trunk or Treaters.

Among the numerous definitions of home is a place where the cooking is tasty and comforting. Goldendale's newest restaurant, the Blue Sage Café, wants to be home in that kind of way.

"We're going to be a good, old-fashioned, home-cooking, comfort food restaurant," says Al Leal, a spokesman for the Blue Sage. The restaurant, at 118 W. Main Street in Goldendale, opens Sunday, Nov. 11. "Old-fashioned hot turkey sandwiches, with the fresh turkey falling right off the bone," Leal continues. "There'll be a turkey every day of the week, with pan-dripping ingredients. It's kind of like the food at grandma and grandpa's when you went to visit them.
