Herrera Beutler wins race

U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler claimed victory against her challenger Carolyn Long after Long conceded the tightly contested race last Wednesday night.

Long conceded after Herrera Beutler’s lead increased in district-wide results. As of Thursday morning, Herrera Beutler had 133,079 votes for 52.59 percent of the vote, to Long’s 119,983 votes and 47.41 percent.
