Scammers extorting in new computer ploy

Computer scammers are hitting Klickitat County, and much of the country, with a scheme designed to extort money from those with potentially guilty consciences. The scam is easy to spot, though some-who understandably are remaining anonymous-have fallen for it. It's riddled with amusingly bad English, but in this age of international cybercrime, one could assume it's just from some enterprising non-native English speaker with a better grasp of graft than of grammar.
Here's how it goes. You get an email that starts off politely enough. "Hello," it opens cheerily. But it immediately turns dark. "I'm a programmer who cracked your email account and device about half year ago...
