Candy Cane Lane contests and parade coming

November 28, 2018

Goldendale’s annual Candy Cane Lane parade and decorations contest are just around the corner.

Elves will be surreptitiously checking out homes and businesses in the city to determine which ones look the most Christmassy. That will happen on Dec. 6 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Candy Cane Lane parade is Dec. 8 in downtown Goldendale. Confirmed reports have established a famous gift giver (hint: dresses all in red, has a fluffy white beard, lives at an extreme northern latitude) will definitely be making an appearance in town.

Line-up for the parade will be at 3:30 p.m. Judging will occur at 4 p.m. Horses will be judge at 4:45 p.m. The parade starts at 5 p.m. There will be free Christmas music, hot chocolate, hot soup, cookies, and children’s books at the Masonic Lodge following the parade.
