June 12

• Baby Storytime – Prewalkers. 10:30 am – 11:30 am. Introduce your baby to words and reading with books, songs, and play for babies and their parents or caregivers.

• Crafty kids. 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Kids ages 8 to 18 are invited to try your hand at screen printing! Learn how to make screens and stencils and practice pulling ink to create crisp, vibrant prints.

June 14

• The Oregon Bird Man presents Colors of the Jungle. 11:00 am, repeat performance at 1:00 pm. An entertaining and educational experience featuring fifteen different parrot species, including several endangered species and representing four continents. Covers behavior, conservation, and things people need to know before getting a parrot as a pet. A spectacular large addition to the flock in 2019! Hosted by Zoologist Karl Anderson.

June 15

• Woodcarving Party: Exquisite Gorge Project. 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. You are invited to carve along with artist Roger Peet as we learn about the process of woodblock printing and the exciting Exquisite Gorge Project. Carving tools will be provided, and all abilities are welcome, from the seasoned artist to the curious kid.

• Dungeons & Dragons. 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Immerse yourself in a world of adventure! Explore forbidding keeps, ancient ruins and dangerous dungeons. Join your fellow heroes and do battle with monsters while seeking legendary treasures. Experienced players or those wanting to learn. This group is intended for 7th grade through high school.

June 17

• FVRL Board of Trustees Meeting. 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The Board of Trustees is the governing body for the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District and holds public meetings on a regular basis.

• Movie Night. 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Enjoy a movie and popcorn after hours at the library. A group discussion will follow for anyone who wishes to stay. Open to adults 18 and older. To find out what is showing, call the library at 773-4487 or check the online calendar at fvrl.org.

• Family Storytime. 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Family storytime is back! Hear stories, sing songs, and enjoy fun activities for children of all ages and their parents or caregivers.

• BookFest ’19! Bigger, better, and more exciting than just any old used-book sale, its BookFest ’19! BookFest ’19 will be held in Library Hall, downstairs at the FVRLibraries Operations Center at 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA, 98663. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. all three days. BookFest ’19 will feature used books for kids and adults in a wide variety of genres. Books will be bargain priced at $1 for most hardbacks and paperbacks, and 50 cents for mass-Market adult fiction paperbacks. We will also have some DVDs and CDs for $1 per disc.
