Centerville's Kayser competing in a pair of events in Vegas

December 12, 2018

Centerville's Curtis Kayser, a starter on the GHS basketball team, will be away from the court for a couple of days after leaving for Nevada for a couple different rodeo competitions.

Today, Kayser competed in the tie down roping in the Mike Johnson Vegas Tuffest Challenge at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, a 9,500 seat arena which is one of the nation's leading multi-purpose sports and entertainment facilities.

After Wednesday's event, Kayser will be one of over 600 competitors running in at least one event at the Junior National Finals Rodeo. The Junior NFR, which runs from Dec. 6 to Saturday, features a full slate of rodeo events for participants up to 18 years of age.

Kayser will compete in the tie down roping as well and is slated to compete on Thursday. The top four competitors in each event advance to Saturday's final round. See next week's paper to see how Kayser did.
