August 24, 1896 – 122 years ago

Professor Charles Timblin made a pleasant call at our Sentinel office. He is a most genial and intellectual-looking gentleman. Grove City College, from which he graduated, is now one of the foremost colleges in Pennsylvania. The college made an effort to retain him as one of the instructors in mathematics, but his desire to follow Horace Greely’s advice “Young man go West!” overcame him, and now he is among us to build up the higher education in our city and county. Surely there is room for an academy when we consider the vast territory that is tributary to Goldendale and the few, very few, facilities for education
