Police: crime in city down from last year

The Goldendale City Council met Monday night and approved several new contracts for services. Those include a $10,000 contract with the Goldendale Chamber of Commerce to promote economic development, a $12,000 contract with Precision Approach Engineering for an update to the city’s airport plan, and a $65,000 contract with Berger ABAM to develop a community broadband plan. Cost of that contract is covered by a $50,000 grant from CERB and a $17,000 grant from Klickitat County Development Authority.

The most interesting proposal came from Scott Lewis, a representative of Kennewick-based Apollo Solutions, a division of Apollo Mechanical, the 11th largest engineering firm in the country wit...
